Charles Renkel was a very kind and loving man. Not to many people actually got to know him like I did he was not only my great grandfather but was my daddy he raised me from a two day old baby into the woman I became he put me through college helped me buy my first home loved all three of his great great grandchildren fiercely and unconditionally as he did me. He worked at GM for 40.3 years at the age of 17 he joined the army. He drove ammunition trucks across India during WW2. Before that he played basketball in high school. After the war he married Betty Naomi Knox. They lived out their lives together until her death when she became ill he took excellent care of her and never put her in a nursing home. He was truly my hero and I miss him so much. I loved him very deeply and have not been the same since I lost him . I would give anything just to be able to hug him and tell him how much I love him and appreciated all the love and support he gave me through life’s challenges. He really was more to me than a parent he was my very best friend in this world. I feel so alone sometimes but he did leave me with tons of wonderful memories. There could never be another like him. I hope to see him again someday when my time on earth comes to an end that would be heaven for me .
