It is truly difficult for me to express all that I am feeling as a result of hearing this tragic news. Christi was one of my best friends in high school. We were always together getting into all kinds of mischief including our many nights of “Nancy Drew”. She was so funny sometimes shockingly so, but she had a good heart. Somewhere along the way our relationship changed and although we haven’t spoken in years, I still cared for her. My biggest wish…regret is that we didn’t fix what was broken. My sincerest condolences to the Hedrick and Franklin families. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this time.

  19. Ann Ball on May 2, 2017 at 7:07 pm

Christi was my Partner in Crime while working at Apple…the only way we got through the dim days there (literally) was her stories and is laughing so hard we couldn’t catch our breath and had tears! She would drive us to lunch almost every day in the bright blue corvette and scare the hell out of me…calling me “Grandma”! I will never forget her deep voice, contagious laugh, gorgeous blue eyes and smile! You are gone too soon my sweet friend, may God and his Angels be dancing with you and hold Mike and your family and friends right during this traumatic, sad time….Love you crazy girl, Ann (Grandma)…?

  20. Maria Chevalier on May 2, 2017 at 7:20 pm

I had the honor of first meeting her while she worked at EDS. She had the gift of lighting up a room with her incredible laugh and sense of humor. I remember many meetings where she would turn stress into laughter and challenges into opportunities

She was always smiling and brightened your day with her incredible outlook on life. She will be missed as she brightened our world.

This news was so heartbreaking. Even though we havent spoke in several years, i can remember Christi’s sense of humor, always kept everyone going. During high school playing softball and volleyball she always kept spirits up, and then the high fives in the hall ways. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hedrick and Franklin family is this very difficult time. May all the memories help you find peace.

  26. Phillip Pena on May 3, 2017 at 11:18 am

Christi is going to be missed by so many. She touched the lives of many with her personality, kindness, laughter and hilarious stories. I never laughed as hard as when I was around her. She was a very special person and I am honored to have known her and to have had the opportunity to work alongside her on the GBTA Hotel Committee to have her as a client at Apple. Christi, your spirit lives on. You live in us.
Mike – my deepest condolences to you and the rest of the family. I cannot imagine the pain you must be going through. My heart goes out to you and am here if you need anything. You had an amazing wife – but you know that, already!

  27. Jack and Bozena Vest on May 3, 2017 at 12:20 pm

As the long rain’s hair trails on the windows, Jack and I think of Christi. In a hurry, we start to turn the pages of memory thinking of a little girl growing up next door to us who became a beautiful young woman inheriting her parents’ great hearts and her brothers’ fighting spirit.
You left too soon, Christi. Your parents’ and family’s unimaginable pain and the great sadness of us all will stay with everybody for a long time. Let’s remember, in the moments of sorrow, that the angels sung when they welcomed you in a better world .
May God give you eternal rest and the strength to the family during this trying times.

  30. Missy Bond on May 3, 2017 at 6:13 pm

This is truly sad news. My thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. During those tough years of high school, growing up and learning who you are. I ALWAYS knew who Christi was – a genuine friend!!!! I always remember her with a smile on her face and love in her heart!! Her quick wit was awesome!! I always thought she should have been a stand up comedian! We played volleyball, basketball and softball together. I will never forget trying to pitch a game with Christi at second base, cheering me on and heckling the other team at the same time. I found myself laughing too much to throw the next pitch!! God must have a special job for her!

The world is a lot darker now, because a light has been blown out, and what a bright light it was. Christi was so much fun to be around. We lost touch after HS, but thankfully reconnected several years ago, and when we did, she made me laugh like always. She would hear a Scorps song on the radio and text me saying “Scorps rule!”; and I would hear Springfield song on the radio and return the “Springfield rules!” I will always love u Christi!

  43. Ken Juergens on May 6, 2017 at 9:55 am

I never knew Christy but felt like I did. Jerry, one of the finest – most caring gentlemen I have ever known, and I shared a computer apartment, (along with 6 other TWA pilots) in St Louis when we were flying for TWA. (Luckily all of us were never there at the same time since the apartment only had 4 beds.) When we were there together and got to the subject of children, Jerry lit up with pride when he spoke of Christy, his sons and their accomplishments.
Jerry I can’t begin to know how difficult it must be to loose a child, no matter what age. When I imagine something happening to one of my children I feel a great deal of sadness, tears start to flow in my eyes and my heart aches. I know you must suffer similar feeling, only an infinite times greater because my imagined loss is only imagined and temporary and yours is so very real and forever. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

  49. Matt Antrim on May 8, 2017 at 4:50 pm

This has left me in such shock that it’s only now, a week later, that I can muster any words.

My deepest and sincerest prayers and thoughts are with all of us left in the wake of Christi’s sudden departure. I especially pray for her mother, Dorothy, who I know must be dealing with immeasurable grief.

The Light Christi brought to this world far outshines the grief she’s leaving behind. Her humor, her love, her companionship and her fierce loyalty to all she touched will remain forever in our hearts and minds.

RIP, my Sweet! Until we meet again…

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting Christi when I stareted working for Apple in 2014. We hit if off and discovered we had a whole lot in common. The main thing was the color purple. She thought she was older than me but we realized our birthdays were 6 days apart. I was actually older than her by 6 days.
There are no words, card, or flowers that can express the loss of such a fun, giving, down to earth, and crazy person she was. She was just so full of life. My prayers are with you Mike, her parents, and all of her family. May God continue to comfort you during this new journey without Christi. She will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in Heaven Christi

    Jerry, Dorothy, Jerry, and Michael,
Our family sends our deepest sympathies for your loss. Our roots go back many years and touch many memories of times before even our children were born. Personally, I have thought of Christi’s passing many times since I first learned of her death, of her special place in your lives, and her impact on others. Our prayers continue to be with you as you move on cherishing her and living your lives together. How special you all have been in our lives even as time and miles separate us. Christi’s lovely picture shows her beautiful blue eyes. I can see your mother, Jerry, smiling through.

Sometimes persons come to mind and this day Christi happened to come to my mind and so yes, I googled her name to see where she may be working and how she is doing. When it has been 24 years since seeing someone and they come to your mind you often wonder the reason. She was hilarious and made work fun by making us laugh. I/We worked with her for a short time at Maritz Travel and EDS. I was sad to share this but we are heart broken by her loss.

Just wanted to share that she is still in our thoughts. What an impression she left on us. Good times! If we come across pictures at any point I will try to remember to share.
