The cousins on the Grafton side of the family (Mike) have not done well through the years in keeping in touch. I suppose I exacerbate the issue living on East coast. A few years back after my mother’s funeral Aunt Ramona) in KS, my wife, son and myself were driving back home
driving back home to NC, all feeling blue yet … and I decided to stay overnight in a nice KC Hotel. We chose the Crown Royal. I knew in past conversations that Chris worked at one off KCs great hotels but didn’t know which one. On a hunch…and in my world travels I am always amazed how small the world is, I said “are you Chris Grafton” to the the shuttle driver as we boarded to go to Jax for dinner. As you could expect he answered … a little abruptly ” well who are you”, and I said I am Ward…your 2nd cousin. Then mentioning Aunt Ramona he really knew then who we were. We would have liked him to join us for dinner but he was on duty. He picked us up later and of course a follow up visit included picture together. I am so glad we saw hin that night..certainly a nice Man . God bless you Chris.. and your wonderful Grandparents whom I have so many fond memories of.
