Colleen Rice
Colleen Rice, 65, Kansas City, MO passed away on September 12, 2007 after a short battle with cancer. Colleen was born April 11, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Jack and Mildred Youngs who proceeded her in death. Colleen is survived by her husband of 26 years, John Rice of the home; two sons, George Gardner and his wife Liz and Randy Gardner of Kansas City. Also surviving are her sister, Sandy Sampson of Belton; her brother, Jack Youngs of Kansas City; three stepdaughters; one stepson; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Colleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service will be at 2 PM on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Colleen?s name to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, KCMO 64145

Colleen aka Grammy was not only my mother figure but she was my BEST Friend. Her presence will be greatly missed daily for me. I thank God for giving Colleen to me, no one could ever take her place in my heart. I will miss her dearly. I love you Grammy…..
I haven’t seen Aunt Colleen in a long while now, but I remember when I was a child she was a loving mother, wife and sister. My prayers are for all who love her.

Colleen was a very dear friend to me for over 28 years. She was as close to me as any sister could be. She was the most caring and generous person I’ve ever had the honor of knowing, and I will miss her dearly. God speed, dear friend.
