Connie Ruth Smith

Connie Ruth Smith April 6, 1942-August 28, 2018

Connie Ruth Smith 76 years old of Grandview, MO was born April 6, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri and went to Heaven August 28, 2018.  She is now with Jesus, her Father and Mother Clark and Ruth Smith, Nephew Mark and her loved ones. She will be greatly missed.

We loved her so much. She was the oldest child of Clark Smith and Ruth Evangeline Norton Smith. She graduated from Mt. Zion Bible School in Ava, Missouri. She also attended KCCBS and Olivet Nazarene College. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing and worked at Fulton State Hospital prior to her retirement. She loved shopping at thrift stores, watching and reading about true crime, cross stitching, crocheting, cats, and writing letters to friends and family. She had quite the personality and always kept us on our toes. She loved to tell stories about her life and nursing career.

Miss Smith is survived by her sister Joan Uta (Rodney McCay), her brothers Michael Smith, Robert (Kris) Smith, nieces and nephews Logan (Jennifer), Colby, Miriam, Matthew (Mayumi) , Victoria and Kimberly. Great-Nieces and Nephews Charice, Kate, Nathan, Luke, Aaron, Mark, Ryan, Emma, Addison and Remmy.

At her request no memorial or graveside services.

Connie and I have exchanged letters for many years. I remember when the stamps were only $.02 !! That was a very long time ago.
I asked her to be a bridesmaid in my wedding in 1965. She will be missed by all who knew her.

We are so sorry! Enjoyed Connie while she lived here and all the letters she wrote afterwards. Connie had her way of letting you know how she felt about things. I know you will miss her.

Connie got close to her brothers Mike and Bob when they all lived in St. Charles. She was the 1st person l met in the family. She quickly called Mom and Dad and told them Bobbie introduced her to a woman after we left. I didn’t realize at the time that was a big step for Bob. I will never forget her and her camera. I swear she took the worst pics. LOL. You couldn’t let your guard down when she was around. She has so many pics of people putting food in their month, eyes closed, pictures with heads cut off, there were just these random flashes in your eyes but it made her happy. We will miss Connie. But l know she is up there with mom and pop and Mark. Rip dear sister, sister in law, aunt and great aunt
