Courtney Lee Bohanan, 42, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.
A memorial service celebrating Courtney’s life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Onka Hall, 11520 Putnam St., Sugar Creek, Missouri.
Courtney was born on October 7, 1983, in Independence, Missouri. She was an absolute Rockstar at her job at Cargo Largo, where she brought her hard work, personality, and one-of-a-kind spirit to everything she did.
Courtney is preceded in death by her father, Gary Lee Pittman; her mother, Shirley Turner; her brother, Josh Pitman; and her beloved cat, Wade Garret.
She is survived by her husband, Luke Bohanan; her sons, Rebel Howe and Elias Bohanan; and her beloved cat, Gary Gray Bohanan.
Courtney will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory and her unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Courtney was definitely a bright light that shinned in every room she walked into, she’s going to be deeply missed by all her friends. Sending hugs and prayers to the family.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.! Courtney was a good person taken too early from those who loved her! Much love and many prayers for you and your family!
Oh Courtney!! What a blessing to have you in my life. It was short but a BEAUTIFUL BLESSING!! You crack me up. Taking little Randy home a few years back and telling him you don’t have booster seat.. so flipping funny. Our last Thursday together and our last Sunday together will forever live in my heart!! You are a true GEM!! You will forever have my respect, heart and friendship. I love you so very much baby sister!! I’m so blessed to have had you in my life the short time it did. While you are spending time in heaven please give my sisters and family a Hello. Know you are a treasure to so many. Watch over the rest of us! I have and will miss you so very much!! You are the Queen at rummy, not many know how to play. Your favorite game to play at my place. All my loving wishes to your 2 boys and a husband. I love you baby sister!! You are so loved and special to so many. Thank you for our friendship!! It became one of my very best friendships!! It took us sometime but who gives a care! I will always always think of you and treasure our special bond!! Only you and I know! Who gives a care!! You loved that saying. And HEY GURL!! Miss you baby sister!! You are one of a kind. You always told me that you aren’t for everyone, but baby sis you are for me!! God bless the memories we made. Much love sister!!
