Daisy R. Graham

Daisy Graham, 97, of Grandview, Missouri passed away August 27, 2017. The homegoing service will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017  at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society.

Daisy Ree Graham was born February 12, 1920 in Magnolia, Arkansas to William E. Lockhart and Essie (Russ) Lockhart. She attended school in Magnolia, Arkansas. She married James Junior Graham on December 24, 1941 and to their union ten children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband James J. Graham, her parents William E. and Essie Lockhart; her brothers: Nathaniel, Amos, Ullysses and Leodis (T-baby) Lockhart, her sisters: Flossie Wilbourn, Farrest C. Smith and Narvell Christopher, her children: Bennie Lee Graham, Verdell Lee Graham, Patrick Lynn Graham, Jerri Dean Banks (Thrower) and Patricia Lynette Reedy; her grandson; Evern Thrower III (Lil E), great granddaughter : Lakira Brown, great grandsons: Marley and Kingston McCrary and great great granddaughter Ella Thrower.

Daisy worked as a daycare provider and an interior decorator. She was a long time member of Friendship Baptist Church. Daisy was a Life Coach to many and she NEVER met a stranger. She LOVED her family and friends unconditionally. Daisy will be remembered by all as a FASHIONISTA and The HAT LADY! No one could wear a brim like her!

She leaves to cherish her memory one brother: Leroy Lockhart of Magnolia, Arkansas; one sister: Dossie M. Jones of Camden, Arkansas, one son: Bradie Lee Graham of Kansas City, Missouri, four daughters: Gloria Sampson (Roland) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sharon Rucker (Dale), Shelia Thomas (Ira), Dinah Graham and honorary daughter Mico Fitzhugh all of Kansas City, Missouri. Fifteen grandchildren: Gina R. Sampson, Adrain and Brachelle Graham, Dayne and Elgin Thrower, Mico Fitzhugh (Daniel), Kisha Thomas, Tyliece Johnson (Aaron), Dale Rucker Jr., Kamika Brown, LaBracha Mendoza (Joel), Ieasha Reedy, Cornelius Graham, Darry and December Brown, forty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

    To the family:
    Sorry for your lost. Majority of my childhood memory is of Ms. Graham taking care of me as child on Flora Ave and the many, many, buffets her and my mom your to go. I remember her smile, her laugh and her good cooking. She will be truly missed.
