Daniel E. Sigars, Sr

Daniel E. Sigars, SR, 65, Kansas City, MO passed away May 28, 2013 at the Kansas City VA Medical Center.  Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, June 3, 2013 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM.  Military burial at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.

Daniel was born November 1, 1947 in Cleveland, OH.  He is a Vietnam era Army Veteran.  Daniel, also know as June and Geech, enlisted in the Army in in 1971 and fearlessly served his country.  He was honorably discharged in 1972.  A fun loving spirit who had never met a stranger.  Always willing to give or share what he had.  He loves spending time with his family and friends, listening to music and giving words of wisdom to his nephews & nieces in which he spend a lot of time with.

Daniel was preceded in death by: father, Daniel E. Sigars, SR;  devoted wife, Gloria Douglas-Sigars; brother Robert Sigars, SR; sisters, Delores Henderson, Flora Nichols-Lacy; and nephew, Nathaniel Sigars.  He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Mattie Sigars-Harris, Kansas City, MO; step-father, Waits Harris, Indianapolis, IN; brother, Charles Shipp, Decatur, IL; sisters, Doris Rainey & Joann Sutton, Kansas City, MO; son, Daniel Sigars III; daughter, Jessica Sigars-McDowell, both of Kansas City, MO; nephews, Robert, Stevie, Charles, Rodney, Troy and Ramon; nieces, Ericka, Gwen, Paula, Dana, Lisa, Jacinta, Lynn, Damora, Veronica, Lena, Leslie and Robyn; grandchildren, Daniel IV, Danielle and Devyn; great grandson, Zion and a host of other family members & friends.
