Daniel Lee Buzard

Daniel Lee Buzard, Sr. passed away on Friday, May 12th at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Dan was born on April 10, 1938 to Herbert and Frieda Buzard in Coffeyville, Kansas. At age 10 the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Will Rogers High School on May 24, 1956. Dan entered the Air Force after High School and served valiantly for four years.   He then went to work for American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dan married Esther Wilson and they had two children, Lee and Jonathan. He moved to Kansas City and worked for Mobil Credit Card Center for twenty-four years. Dan married Janet Lea Mynatt on March 23, 1991. He retired a few years later. After he retired, Dan worked part time for the Park Hill School District as a Bus Driver. He really enjoyed retirement, spending time with grandchildren and family. He enjoyed painting and shared his paintings with many family members. Dan also loved to travel and to visit historical sites. Dan and Janet were sealed as husband and wife for time and all eternity in the Nauvoo Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 25, 2003.

Dan held many different positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked with the young men in Scouting a number of times. He also served in the Independence Family History Center.

Dan is survived by his eternal companion, Janet Lea Mynatt Buzard; his sons, Daniel Lee Buzard, Jr. of Tuscon, Arizona, and Jonathan Lee Prince; his sister Patricia Kay Wooten of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Madison Lee Buzard, McKenzie Kelly Buzard, and Kelsey Marie Prince; his great grandchildren, Marshal Lee Terrell, and Masion Jordan Terrell; his step grandchildren, Tyrell Allen Morris, Michael Christopher Morris, and Benjamin James Morris.
