He was born December 3rd, 1957 in Independence Missouri to George and Dorothy Delameter. He was the 5th of six children. Mom always said what a “Happy Boy” he was, always smiling. Darrel grew up on a small farm in Lee’s Summit with his siblings. Sheila, Dale, Katie, Carol, and Marsha.

More than anything, his heart was full of love and humor for his family, friends and God. The next time you hear a Sammy Hagar song turn it up loud for Darrel and remember that smile.

I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Darrel. I’ve enjoyed a decade of Chief’s games at his place. He would grill for several of us. He watched over my Mom when she lived next to him. He was a good man and will be greatly missed by many.

I haven’t seen Darrel in many years, but I knew Darrel and the Delameter Family from our teenage years at Grandview Assembly of God. I remember Darrel loved playing the drums for our youth choir. My deepest condolences to the family, I know you all will see him again.

Can’t begin to count all the adventures we shared. Darrel was one of the most fun loving friends I have ever met. “I Can’t Drive 55 “
