Darrell Eugene Recob, Jr.

Darrell Eugene Recob, Jr., 52, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospice Care House from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00am Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO.

Mr. Recob, Jr. was born on November 3, 1967 in Kansas City, MO to Darrell Eugene Recob, Sr. and Charlina Raye (Gannaway) Recob.

Darrell was quite a character, very outgoing, obnoxious, always in for a good joke, life of the party and never met a stranger. He was a giant with the biggest heart of pure gold you would ever find. He was an avid golfer, played on a tennis league and was a huge lover of miniature golf. And as most know, he adopted Vegas as his second home, no details needed.

Darrell was preceded in death by: father, Darrell Recob Sr.; grandparents, Katherine Recob, and Warren and Peggy Gannaway; and stepmother, Janet Recob.

Left to carry on his memory is: wife, Sherry Ray Recob of the home; adopted son, Carl (Melissa) Wallace of Kansas City, MO; mother, Charlina Recob of Raytown, MO; two brothers, Benjamin Recob, Sr. of Raytown, MO and Matthew Recob of Belle Chase, LA; sister, Sarah (Patrick) Koonz of Peculiar, MO; father-in-law, Wallace (Pat) Ray of Amsterdam, MO; sister-in-law, Lena Ray of Independence, MO; two brothers-in-law, Wallace (Donna) Ray of Kansas City, MO and Patrick (Shelli) Ray of Blue Springs, MO; 6 nephews, Teron, Jordan, Jared, Isaac, Ben Jr and Henry; 3 nieces, Toni, Veronica and Amber; 4 great-nieces, Jerzie, Jaizlyn, Janelle and Ka’Lia; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Darrell I remember when you were born and saw you grow up as a child – you and Benny were a great pair of brothers, You were Grandma Katherine’s pride and joy and your Mom and Dad’s too. It is sad how life changes and families drift apart but the things I remember as an old Great Uncle was your Birth. Childhood, and your Marriage to Sherry. We are so happy to see you were Blessed in the rest of your life filled with Great Family Values and the true love that Sherry stayed by your side through the difficult part.
