David Allen Grimes

David Grimes, 40, he was born at Truman Medical Center East on September 1 1978. He entered the kingdom of our Heavenly Father on May 27, 2019. A visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2019, 3-4 PM at Grace Church, 911 N. Noland Road, Independence, Mo 64050. A funeral service will be immediately following the visitation at 4:00 PM. Interment will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Granby Memorial Cemetery, in Granby, MO
David was a loving father of 6 children and 2 grandsons. He loved to live life and make everyone laugh no matter the situation! He was a hard worker, but would rather fall asleep and just snore really loud on the couch.
If you knew my dad you could hear his voice a mile away. He would always try and please everyone and do anything he could to constantly make his kids happy. He lived his life to the absolute fullest.
He was preceded in death by his father Maurice Grimes Jr. David is survived by his mother, Jerri Lynn Koplish (Craig) of Gillette, WY; brothers Maurice Grimes III, of WY and Jeff Grimes of Independence, MO; as well as sister Jamie Grimes of Independence, MO.
His children include Brooke Phillips, Austin Grimes, Cheyenne Grimes, Ethan Grimes, Charlee Grimes, and Briella Grimes, his grandsons Chance Phillips, and Lincoln Phillips.

When I met you I hadn’t smiled or laughed in nearly a year. You were the one who brought me out of the dark time I was going through and made me laugh and smile again; even though you were going through a hard time yourself. I will always love you for that and I choose to remember the good times, not the bad. I miss you so much right now David and the hurt I feel, along with so many others cannot be put into words. Never will I forget the memories we made together. My heart hurts for those kids of yours that you loved so very much and I pray that everyone finds peace through all of this. May you rest in peace David. You will never be forgotten. ?
