David Eugene Maudlin “Welder Dave” age 66 of Independence, Mo passed away on March 7, 2022 at his home. David was born on December 2, 1955 to Jack and Lyda Maudlin in Coffeyville, Ks.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday April 2, 2022, 2:00pm at the
VFW Post 1000, 1002 US Hwy 24, Independence, Mo 64050. Graveside services will be held privately at Ulan Cemetary in Oklahoma with family per his wishes.
David served 3 years in the Marines at a young age from 74-77. When he returned home he started welding for his dad. He went on to become one of the best welders in town and known to many as Welder Dave.
David also loved his fishing. Any kind of fishing, if there’s a body of water just give him his pole.
David is survived by Ghale DeShazo (daughter), Jeremy Maudlin (son), Scottie Hamlin (step-son), Collin, Caleb and Cayson DeShazo (grandsons), Raven Hamlin (granddaughter), Dennis Maudlin (brother), Donnie Maudlin (brother) and Jenny Lohman (sister).
David is preceded in death by Rita Pierce (wife), Lyda Maudlin (mom), Jack Maudlin (dad), Elly Morris (sister) and Paula Roberts (sister).

Dave had a heart of gold. I am proud to have known him and to call him my friend. He will be missed very much. Prayers for his family.
Dave was known by many and loved by many more. He will forever be cherished in our hearts. Our condolences and continued prayers for his family and friends.
