It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David G. Parker, who passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 76, surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by Linda, his wife of 48 years; his two children, Amanda Sullins (Eric) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Christopher Parker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Parker Sullins and Meredith Sullins; his sister, Barbara Corbitt of Brunswick, Georgia; and his uncle, Bill Piland of Thomasville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley W. Parker; his mother, Martha Piland Parker; and his brothers, Daniel Parker and Dudley Parker.
Dave was born on January 12, 1950, in Thomasville, Georgia, to D.W. and Martha Parker. He attended elementary and high school in Moultrie, Georgia. He graduated from Valdosta State University in 1972 and earned his MBA there in 1974. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1978, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base and Tinker Air Force Base.
After leaving the Air Force, Dave earned his CPA certificate in November 1978 and specialized in tax accounting. He worked for Arthur Andersen and Carney and Standfield Accounting before opening his own accounting business in Oklahoma City in 1983. He closed his CPA practice in April, 2024. Dave was a conscientious and dedicated tax accountant who always strove to provide the highest level of service to his clients.
Dave had a lifelong passion for physical fitness and sports. He played varsity tennis in college and earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2000. In later years, he developed a love for swimming and scuba diving, completing more than 500 dives in Australia, the Bahamas, Mexico, and the South Pacific.
No public services are planned, as Dave wished for his final resting place to be in the place he loved most, the ocean.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
