David Patrick Inman

David Patrick Inman was born on May 18, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away on November 2, 2026.

He graduated from Southwest High School in 1973 and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1979 to 1983 as a Quartermaster. In 1985, he also pursued his education in respiratory therapy, entering a profession dedicated to helping others.

In 1981, David married the love of his life, Sandra Wilson. Together, they shared 45 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, music, and countless memories. David had a special gift for music and loved playing both the guitar and keyboard. One of the most meaningful ways he expressed his love for Sandra was through music, creating many songs just for her. These songs will remain a treasured reminder of the love they shared.

David and Sandra also shared a love for their Kansas City Royals. They enjoyed watching games together and had the special memory of watching the Royals win the World Series in 1985, when their son Daniel was just a few weeks old. Thirty years later, they celebrated another Royals World Series championship in 2015. These were special moments woven into the story of their life together.

David loved the Lord, and his faith was an important part of his life.

In 1985, David and Sandra welcomed their only son, Daniel. David was proud of his son, and they shared many years of family memories. Daniel was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether his dad needed something fixed around the house or just needed a little assistance. He was especially there for his parents during David’s final days, helping wherever he could and making sure they were cared for.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Marcella Inman, and his brothers, Michael Inman and Steve Inman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sandra; his son, Daniel, and Daniel’s fiancée, Felisha Butts; and his beloved grandchildren, Christian and Tylor. He is also survived by his siblings, Annette Rasmussen, Cheryl Chavez, and Douglas (Kelley) Inman, along with many nieces and nephews.

David will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His faith, his music, the songs he created for his wife, the memories shared cheering on their Royals, and the love he gave his family will remain part of his lasting legacy. While his family will miss him dearly, they find comfort in knowing that David is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

Visitation will be 10am, followed by funeral services at 11am, Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113, Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133. Burial in Blue Springs Cemetery.
