David Warren Cosens, 77, Independence, MO, passed away on February 8th at his home, after suffering from dementia.
A memorial service for David will be held at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, MO, on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The visitation begins at 1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm. LIVE STEAM LINK
He was born May 30th, 1944, to Mary Frazier in Springfield, MO. David was an only child. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1962. He graduated from Emporia State University in 1966. After graduating from college he joined the Peace Corp and went to Nigeria for 2 years, teaching in a school. This was one of the great highlights of his life.
When he finished the Peace Corp, he met Mary Alice Berry and the married Sept 5, 1969. They were married for 25 years and had four children; Jeff, Jenny, Sarah, and Brian. He married Teresa Murray on October 15, 1995. They had no children and were married 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Cosens; sons, Jeffery and Brian Cosens; daughters, Jennifer Priest and Sarah Duff; and seven grandchildren.
He will be mourned and greatly missed by his family.
