Deborah L. Young, 60, of California, MO passed away on July 1, 2026 at Jefferson City Manor nursing home after fighting a long battle with cancer. She was born Deborah Lynn Sourwine on March 3, 1966 in Iowa City, IA to Sharron (Sourwine) Hall the late Thomas “Tom” McGinity who preceded her in death.
She had two children and five grandchildren, and she worked in food service and at Cargill for as long as she could before an injury disabled her. She loved spending time with her grandkids and making Christmas cookies and candy for family and friends.
Debbie is survived by her mother Sharron, her daughter Bobbi Ciolli and husband Alex, her son AJ Young and wife Alisa, her 5 grandchildren Kristian and Triniti Tucker, Andrik, Aubri, and Ayden Young; her brother Brian Sweezer and wife Tammey and his daughter Danielle; her uncle Robert “Bobby” Sourwine and wife Briana, their 3 children Kayleigh Downs, Jaylen and Wesley Sourwine; her uncle Raymond “Ray” Sourwine, and other cousins and family.
A Celebration of Life memorial is being held at California’s Proctor Park – lion’s shelter, on Saturday 7/11 from 1pm to 4pm. The family invites all who knew her to attend and share their favorite memories.
