Debra Sue Harris

Debra Sue Harris, 63, of Columbia, Missouri passed away May 7, 2020 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri with her daughters by her side.

She was born August 12, 1956 in Macon, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Roberta Harrington. Debra was raised with her siblings in Atlanta, Missouri. She later moved to St. Louis, Missouri and gave birth to her daughters who she raised in Callao and Columbia, Missouri.

Debra was a tremendous mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a kindhearted woman who went out of her way to help others. Debra was always the life of the party and shared amazing adventures with many. Her passion was cooking. She received her bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts and loved cooking for her kids, grandkids, and so many others lucky enough to have tasted her magical creations.

Debra is survived by her daughters Barbie Harris-Cardoza (James Cardoza) and Jennifer Harris-Cardoza (Michael Cardoza), grandchildren Joey and Hannah Cardoza, siblings Kathy Vaughn (Tom Vaughn) and Duke Harrington (Bev Harrington), and her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother Donnie Harrington and parents Robert and Roberta Harrington.

Debra’s children were her life and she would do or give anything for her grandchildren. Among the many adventures she shared with her grandkids some of her favorites included teaching them to swim and how to drive a four-wheeler. They promised to work together to always keep those beloved memories alive.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date (TBD) so we are all able to celebrate together as she would have wanted. Details will continue to be updated.

So sorry to hear this. We were in the same class in school. I saw her a few years ago at the Flywheel Reunion in Macon and we shared a big hug. I bought a pretty red table she had made. I think of her each time I look at it.
