Ms. Deamer was born on November 27, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Willa Mae Matthews and Walter Matthews. Both preceded her in death, along with her sister El’myra Short and her brother John Matthews. Delores moved to the state of Missouri and has lived here for over 47 years.

Delores attended Southern University College where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. Delores worked for the Kansas City Missouri School District (KCPS) as a teacher for over 30 years and then retired. Delores loved children and children loved her. She enjoyed teaching children and helping people. She was a warm, giving person and she helped anyone in need. She had a good heart. Delores respected people and she carried that in her character everyday. She always wanted to do the right thing and she instilled a lot of her beliefs into her son Mark Deamer, Sr. Delores was kind and gentle with people. Delores had the biggest heart anyone could imagine! She was a strong fighter. She has overcame lots of obstacles and she was a true inspiration of what it means to be humble, strong and consistent. You could always learn something from Delores with out a doubt. She was a very special person indeed.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Mark L. Deamer, Sr.; his fiancé, Terria Zachary(daughter in law); one grandson, Mark L. Deamer, Jr.; one sister, Jerry Mae Haynes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Delores will be deeply missed.
