Dennis Downs, 67, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on April 28, 2018 at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. Dennis was born on February 9, 1951 to Thomas Albert and Stephanie Elizabeth Downs in Engelwood, New Jersey.
He is survived by his children Kelsey Downs, and Tommy Downs; grandson, Jordan Vandever; as well as sister, Phyllis Goss.
A military service with honors will be held at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.
He will be greatly missed.

I am just curious if this is the Dennis Downs that we grew up with in Las Vegas? He and my brother joined the Marine Corps together during the Vietnam war. Dennis was a gentle soul and we remember him fondly. He had a sister in Missouri and I’m just wondering if this is the same Dennis Downs we were kids with? I would appreciate knowing for certain. If so you have my condolences.
