Dennis Mitchell McCoy

Dennis Mitchell McCoy, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri went peacefully to be with his Lord after a strong and valiant 16 year battle with cancer. Dennis was born August 9th, 1952 in Emporia, Kansas, to Richard Edwin McCoy and Leona Eileen (Grimmett) McCoy. He was proud to have earned the rank of an Eagle Scout. Dennis graduated from Emporia High School in 1971.
Dennis attended the vocational college in Emporia to become an electrician. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri from Larned, Kansas in 1994. He worked as an industrial electrician for GST Steel. He married Rosalind Deprair in 2001 and attended Penn Valley, where he received a degree in graphic design. He began work for the City of Kansas City, Missouri in 2004 and retired in 2015.
Dennis is survived by his wife; Rosalind, son Matt McCoy of Seattle, Washington, daughter Lindsey CLine and her Husband Jaeson of Garfield, Kansas, grandchildren; Gunnar, Breckyn and Brogaen Cline, siblings Peggy Price, Kathy Wiseman, Tim McCoy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis touched the lives of everyone he met. He enjoyed people of all ages and ethnicities. He loved music, writing wry stories from an Irishman’s point of view, chronicling his father’s WWII experiences, photography, volunteering, and sharing wisdom and life experiences with friends and family.
Dennis truly loved Jesus and often quoted Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good.”
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

    We could not have gotten to the many places that we were post to without Dennis. He helped us in so many different ways and times.
    Dennis hauled many a trailers of my family’s “Jacque” from one posting to another.
    We couldn’t have done it without him.

    I knew Dennis for a short time as another person living with cancer and he was such a kind and inspirational man. My condolences to his family and friends.
