Dennis Richard Sammons of Independence, Mo passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. He was in the presence of his loving family.
Dennis was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 25, 1970 and grew up in Colorado. He was the son of John Harlow and Donna Sammons. He is preceded in death by his father, Harlow Sammons.
Survivors include his loving fiancé, Sabrina Dillon, sons, John Paul (JP) and Weston Sammons all of Independence, Mo., mother, Donna Sammons, brother Paul and wife, Marianne Sammons, nephews Mason and Cillian, and best friend Brian Painter all of Denver, Colorado.
Dennis was a devoted father, partner, loving son, loving brother and an avid Civil War Reenactor. He enjoyed being a Den Leader of his youngest son’s Boy Scout Pack. He loved his family and friends. Nothing would come before them. He would do anything for anybody.
Dennis’ mischievous smile, sense of humor and love of life and family will be missed.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5 pm- 6 pm. Memorial Services will be held at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Mo on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 6 pm- 7pm.

Dear Family of Dennis,
I met him when he was married to Gina and got to know him over the years via phone calls and short visits at the reunions that were had. He was funny, sweet, and to me was pretty much a big kid! I will miss his laugh and his wit. He made living in the south fun. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
The space you leave will never filled; the love you inspired will never be diminished. Gratitude for your life, peace and serenity forever.
