Dianne Eidson

Dianne Rice Eidson, 63, of Fairway, KS, passed away on July 6, 2010. She passed away at home after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Dianne was born in Vero Beach, FL, to Stephen and Frances Rice. Her siblings include Stephen Rice Jr., Nancy Sadler and Daryl Rice, all of Albany, GA. She was married to Allan Stephen Eidson on September 4, 1971, in Albany, GA. Dianne received a bachelor of arts in education from the University of Georgia. She was a loving wife and enjoyed all of the interesting places she and Allan lived, including Georgia, California, Ohio and Kansas. She is survived by her husband, Allan Stephen Eidson of Fairway, KS; daughter Allison Stephanie Eidson of Dallas, TX; daughter Anna Eidson Palmer; son- in-law Ryan Charles Palmer and granddaughter Caroline Whitefield Palmer of Erie, PA; her mother Frances Dees Rice, and her siblings Stephen John Rice Jr., Nancy Rice Sadler, Daryl Dees Rice, all of Albany, GA. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen John Rice. She was a dedicated mother of two daughters, Allison and Anna. Vero Beach was on the ocean and many of her happiest childhood and adult memories are associated with trips to the beach with family and friends. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother to her only grandchild, Caroline. Dianne’s memorial service will take place at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS, on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. The family requests that memorial gifts be designated for cancer research at the Mayo Clinic.
