Don Coleman, 68, Independence, MO, passed away peacefully, Feb. 22, 2012 at his home. Don was born April 5, 1943 in Mehlville, MO to Henry and Ruth Coleman. Don retired from the General Motors Leeds plant in 1993. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Don is survived by is wife of 42 years, Fern Coleman of the home, daughters Paula Montgomery of Independence, and Terra Coleman of Raytown, 4 grandchildren; Matthew (Nicki) Montgomery, Tanna, Mason, and Jessica Coleman, 2 great-grandchildren; Dustin and Cassie Montgomery, and 2 sisters; Blanche Stanley of Raytown, and Dorothy Hayes of Lynchburg, VA. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Heartland Cremation 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM, at the funeral home, followed by graveside services at Brooking Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice 4041 S. Lynn Ct. Dr., Independence, MO 64055 or The American Cancer Society.

Hoggie and I would like to extend our most sincere condolences to you and your families at this very difficult time. I am sure that you have many great memories of Don and your times together. Just know that his love for you and your family will endure forever. Think on the good times, forget the difficult times, and look forward to your reunion in Heaven.
