Donald Powers

Donald Wayne Powers, Sr., 63, of Williamsburg, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Mike Crowson will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Harmony Baptist Church in Auxvasse. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Don was born April 18, 1947 in Clintwood, VA to the late Robert L. & Violet J. (Bryant) Powers. On June 18, 1966 he married Helen L. Beasley at Harmony Baptist Church and she survives him of the home. Don is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Powers Beuerle of Seminole, FL and Barbara Powers Langer of Pemberton, NJ; two children, Donald W. Powers and Brian K. Powers both of Williamsburg as well as seven grandchildren, Nick Powers, Coty Powers, Lauren Powers, Joshuah Powers, Zachary Powers, Haillie Powers and Alissya McGlasson. Don served In the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver throughout his life, working for Opies Transport the last 22 years of his career. Don was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Brook L. Powers.
