Donald Bruce “Fibber” Trapp, 78, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. A lifelong area resident, he attended Wyandotte High School, served in the US Army during the Korean War and in the US Army Reserves several years thereafter. He became a master cabinet maker, supervising the building of custom kitchen cabinetry throughout the greater Metropolitan area for over 30 years. He was actively involved in various ministries at both Open Door Baptist Church and Woodson Avenue Bible Church, where he also completed numerous building and remodeling projects. He also greatly appreciated the years of love and support of his friends at Bill’s 32 West who deserve a special thanks! Surviving are his wife of 50 years Barbara Trapp of the home; three sons, David Trapp of Kansas City, Kan., Francis Z. “Zane” Trapp of Kansas City, Kan., and Charles V. “Victor” Trapp and wife Christine of Belton, Mo.; one daughter, Elizabeth Trapp of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jon and Jeff Petrey and Taylor Trapp and Brie Ann Trapp; two sisters, Shirley Bergenhofer of Kansas City, Kan., and Lois Jean Southern of California; two brothers, Robert Trapp and Ronnie Trapp, both of Kansas City, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis F. and Esther E. Trapp; brothers, George, Charles B. and Herbert Trapp; and sisters, Frances Larkin and Marie Kanosky. Visitation for friends and family will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, followed by a memorial service at 6:45 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. We would like to thank all the wonderful people of Providence Medical Center and Dr. Premsingh for taking such excellent care of our loved one.
