Don Weiss, 1942-2012
A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton with Steve Mallinckrodt and Pastor Emily Carrol officiating. The family welcomes visitors from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
Don was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Hannibal, to the late Milburn Frederick and Wilma (Wasson) Weiss.
Don was united in marriage to Doris Ann (De La Porte) Weiss on Feb. 25, 1961, in Hannibal.
Don moved his family to Fulton in 1971 to teach at the Missouri School for the Deaf.
In 1977, he began his career at Danuser Machine Company. Before his retirement in 2007, he held many positions within the company, including plant superintendent.
Along with his wife, Don is survived by three children, Brad Weiss and wife Jennifer Ousley, Lisa Ann McIntire and her friend, Jason Painter, and Sara Baysinger and husband B. J. Don’s greatest treasures were his six grandchildren, Hilary Ann Miller, Bradley Manning Weiss, Elizabeth Hunter McIntire, Lola Jane Weiss, Steven Frederick Cole and Donald James “Donnie” Baysinger. Don will also be sadly missed by lifelong friend Harlon Lain of Hannibal.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eldon Lewis Weiss, and his sister of three years, Patricia Ann Weiss.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Fulton Manor Care Center in Don’s name.
