Donald William Winn

Donald Winn, 81, of Lee’s Summit, MO took his final flight on Sunday October 14, 2012 into God’s arms.  Don was born December 14,1930 in Stamford, CT.  Don was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Navy, where his passion for flying began. He met and married in 1952, the love of his life, Dena, in San Francisco, CA.  Don then started his career of 34 years as flying Captain of Trans World Airlines. Don was a talented man, and lived his life fully. He was a devoted husband and loving father to 2 daughters.  Don gave Dena, a dozen roses, every week, to remind her of his love. He was an avid Royals and Chiefs fan, he loved golfing, music and traveling the world with Dena.

Don leaves behind his wife and best friend of 60 years, Dena Winn, his two daughters; Donene Oman and Debra (Don) Rich. He has 4 grandchildren, David and Drew Oman, and Donald and Danielle Rich.   Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Silent Unity Chapel, Unity Village, MO at 1:00 PM. Cremation.
