Donna Jean Pence

Donna Jean Pence (Weatherman), 78, of Raytown, Missouri, passed peacefully on February 14, 2023 with her family by her side. Services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri. Visitation will be 10-11am, with the funeral starting at 11am. Graveside services to follow in Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri.

Donna was born in Independence, Missouri on February 9, 1945 to Carl and Helen Weatherman. She was a lifelong resident of Raytown, Missouri where she graduated from Raytown High School in 1963. She married, had two sons and went on to work for Daisy Can Opener for seven years and retired from Peterson MFG after 25 years. She loved spending time with family, enjoyed photography, journaling, bowling and square dancing.

Donna was proceeded in death by her parents Carl and Helen Weatherman; daughter-in-law Cheryl Pence, and great grandson Dakota Durocher.

She is survived by her brother  Ed Weatherman; sisters Ruth Ann Hurst (Ray), Linda Olewinski (Keith); sons Doug Pence and Bruce Pence (Tressa); grandchildren Kristan Jacobs (Damien), Stephanie Sandnes (Bobby), Angela Johnson (Tyler), Nick Pence (Chrissy), Natalie Jurgeson (Jarett), Brandon McBee (Brianna), Eryn Jackson (Eddie), and Zach Walters (Anna); great grandchildren Shawn, Aydon, Jordan, Damien, Teagan, Ethan, Zander, Jhett, Blakley, Makayla, Mason, Makenna, Lincoln, Kinley, and Lochlan; and grand dogs Tobey and Tucker.

    I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. We worked together for years. I have a maple tree in my front yard that she gave me the sapling for. I think of her every time I walk out my front door.

    I’M SORRY TO HEAR OF DONNA’S PASSING. I WORKED WITH HER AT PETERSON FOR SEVERAL YEARS. SHE IN FACT HELPED ME OUT WHEN I WAS NEW TO PETERSON. I LIKED HER VERY MUCH AND ENJOYED WORKING WITH HER EVEN MORE. GODS BLESSINGS TO HER FAMILY.

    So sorry for the loss of your Mother. Donna was a terrific person who really enjoyed working with. Plus she made the best pea salad ever!
