Alene was born & raised in Camden Point, Missouri, where she graduated high school & soon met her husband James McDonald. Together they owned several furniture stores. Alene loved selling furniture. After retiring, she became an avid gardener & spent a lot of her time working in her yard. She loved having big family meals. She had a huge heart and helped many along her journey.
A special thank you to her long time friend and care taker, Kelly McCray, along with Village Hospice.
Following her wishes, a cremation has taken place at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society. We will be holding a Celebration of Life for Alene this spring, which was her very favorite season & looked forward to it every year. Family & friends will be notified in advance of the date & time.
Missing you Gram. Know you’re up there planting pretty flowers and being as spunky as ever.
Keith

So sorry for our loss but find comfort in knowing that she is now without pain and without worry. She now has the strength to give Uncle Jim grief and to love and hold on to Pat for eternity. Will look forward to celebrating her life in the spring with other family and friends. Thank you Amee, Keith and Kandi for all that you did for Grams through her last years on earth. And to Mike for his support during her time in Oregon. She will make us all an entertaining angel! Peace be with her.

Save me a place closest to you! Until we meet again I say bye bye momma.
Alene is at peace. She has been a big part of my life for over 25 years and her passing leaves a big hole in my heart. She has been my biggest ally and at times my greatest foe! She believed in heaven and always thought John Edwards could help her talk to the departed. I can think of nothing more entertaining than to hear her version of what’s going on up there! Love you all. Ann aka Annlene.
We just found out that Alene died and we were sorry to hear the news. She was such a sweet lady and we kept in touch through Christmas cards and we also worked on the family tree together. Sympathy goes out to her family! Glen and Pat

When I think of you I am sad and lonely for you but my own selfish reasons want you here. I think I actually thought you were invincible because you were “Superwoman”. Literally the absolute strongest woman I’ve known ever. A huge piece of me went with you the early morning you passed. I know you would be so sad to know of my struggles the last few years but I’m pulling things together & will prevail. Thank God for his grace and mercy and I pray to make you proud until we are reunited and planting flowers, watching Lifetime & Snapped and eating No Bakes. I love you sooooooo much forever Gram??
