Doris “Diane” Johnson

Doris “Diane” Johnson, 80, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away December 23, 2019 after a long and valiant battle with breast cancer.  Diane was born September 3, 1939 to William Orville Douglas and Emma Frances Douglas (Storms) and raised by her grandparents, Ruth and Ralph McComas.  She was a 1957 graduate of William Chrisman High School. Diane worked for many years at Hallmark Cards in quality control and most recently at Lee’s Summit Walmart in men’s ware.

Diane was a strong Christian who loved her Savior Jesus Christ, believed His words and gave testimony of His wonderful blessings in her life. She enjoyed dining out at the Cracker Barrel and Olive Garden and loved to play the slots! She loved her family and spending time with them and she will be greatly missed.

She was proceeded in death by: her parents, her grandparents, her sister Billie Ellis, Robert Hall and Leonard Owsley.

Diane is survived by: husband, Robert L. Johnson of the home; brother, Lloyd Douglas of Independence, MO; daughters, Karen Lewis of Overland Park, KS and Kimberly Green and husband Phil of Independence, MO; son, Darren Hall and wife Julie of Belton, MO; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces, Jana Goodnight, Dana Gibbs and Anita Ellis King; 1 nephew, Brian Douglas.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00am. Burial will be held at Lobb Cemetery, Independence, MO.

    Hi, I am the little girl photo bombing behind Diane and Leonard Owsley in their last picture around 3 mins in the video. I remember Diane brushing my hair and being sweet to me when we stayed with them. I last saw her at Dad’s funeral. Glad to see she went on to have a long life filled with love.
