Doris J. Gunlock

Doris J. Gunlock, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away October 7, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a short illness. She was born May 6, 1938 to George and Alvina (Nason) Hasbrouck in Sioux City, Iowa. She married Charles Olin Gunlock in October of 1957 and then moved to Kansas City area. She was an accountant for ExxonMobil, retiring after 35 years. She then worked for MGE, retiring for a second time after five years there.

She loved the Kansas City Chiefs, traveling, and spending time in the sun and pool. She especially loved spending time with her family and beloved pets.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Gunlock; sister Ethel “Sis” Nason; and brother Jack Anderson. Survivors include her only daughter Shawn Gunlock; her only grandson Zachary Sauer, a niece and nephews and several cousins.

A visitation will be 2pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter.
