Doris June Simmons

Doris June Simmons, 73, of Smithville, MO, passed away on February 14, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. A visitation will precede the service at noon. Following the funeral, Doris will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, MO.

Doris had a deep passion for genealogy, spending countless hours researching family history and preserving cherished legacies. She also found joy and tranquility in gardening, nurturing beauty in every season.

She dedicated her career to public service, working for the federal government with the Social Security Administration. Her commitment and diligence left a lasting impact on those she helped throughout the years.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gregory Simmons, Sr., who passed in 2015. They were married in August of 1969 and shared a life filled with love and devotion.

She is survived by her children: Ben and Joanna Simmons, Greg Simmons Jr., Geoff and Wendy Simmons, and Conan Simmons. She was a proud grandmother to Samantha Simmons, Audrey Simmons (Brandon Keeton), and Spencer Ryan. Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Georgia Jewell, Benjamin, Maxleigh, and Maizy Keeton, and Ruby Ryan.

Doris’s warmth, wisdom, and love for family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
