DOROTHY JOYCE ELLIOTT
Dorothy Joyce Elliott, age 84, died at home Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Born in Kansas City, MO, on August 29, 1928, to Joe and Alcy Frazier. She had one brother and 6 sisters. On April 15, 1949, Joyce married Russell G. Elliott. She was a homemaker and mother of five. She enjoyed singing and co-authored numerous gospel hymns. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and at the time of her death was a member of the Blue Springs Church of Christ. Joyce is survived by three siblings, Joe Frazier, Jr., Ellen Sears and Esther Rinkenbaugh, four children, Joy & Sam Bennett, Marty & Pat Elliott, Kathy & Marvin Mason, Kevin & Linda Elliott, fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter and son-in-law Barbara & Kenny Dunlap, one granddaughter, and four sisters, Rita Humphery, Margaret Bolinger, Edith Bowman and Elizabeth Kella. Funeral and visitation will be held at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Visitation on Friday, November 16th, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, and the funeral service will be Saturday, November 17th, at 11:00 am. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Crossroads Hospice.
sorry kathy i wasnt able to be there,worked overtime last night till 7:00 am this morning, my thoughts are with you and your family,i know in my heart that she is with your dad know and that ashe dont feel no more pain and they are singing together with barb in heaven. so please accept my thoughts to you and hope that you and marv have a wonderful life together now that you can try and relax and enjoy your time together now. let me know if there is anything i can do. just remember that you and marv did the very best you could do for your mom. take care yours truly glen
