Dorothy Lee Wheeler, 87, Kansas City, MO passed away may 11, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Raymond & Irene (Marcum) Highfill; and three brothers, Charles Highfill & wife Vesta, Clarence Highfill, and Wilbur Highfill and wife Ruth. Dorothy is survived by two children, Vesta and Raymond Wheeler; and two brothers Raymond Highfill and wife Ann, and Gordon Highfill and wife Carla. Also surviving her is her sister-in-law, Jo. Dorothy was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII and was a member of the Womens Maring Corp Auxillary in Kansas City. Dorothy was a longtime resident of the Kansas City area, with time spent in Denver and South Dakota. A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment in Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
