Dorothy Hood-Mears, 88, Independence, MO passed away April 11, 2012 at Carmel Hills Nursing Home.  A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 PM. A graveside service will be at 10 AM, Monday, April 16, at Park Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin H. and Veda (Garton) Houx, husbands; James A. Hood, and Grover Cleveland Mears, along with 5 siblings.  She is survived by her children; James A. Hood (Judy), Dorothy Jo Celso (Ben), Paul E. Hood, and Robin R. Noland (Dave) a sister Mary Francis Gill (Robert), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Literary Feline – I did have that problem with some of them. My sstier’s rock-star name was “Aphrodite Odyssey” (our first cat + her minivan), and she thought that sounded more stripper-like than her stripper name, “Chanel Sees.” I’m not sure about the whole idea of an “elegant” stripper name, though :-).When you’re eating dinner on your own, cereal is a great choice, I think!
