Edna Mae Hartsell Shaw

 

Edna Mae Hartsell Shaw, 92, Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012.  Visitation will be held1-2 PM, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, 6429 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133 with Memorial services to follow 2PM at the church.

Mrs. Shaw was born to James H. and Edna P. Wolfe Hartsell on November 2, 1919 in Adrian, MO.  She married George Shaw on June 11, 1939 at Joplin, MO.  She retired from Macy’s in 1981.  She was a member of Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she was involved with the Sewing, Circle and Sunshine visitation groups.

She was preceded in death by; husband, George; parents; brother, James; step-mother, Elsie; granddaughter, Angela Macek; and step brother, Andrew.  Survivors include; daughters & sons in law, Darlene & Jerry Finke, North Platte, NE, Donna & Frank Macek, Bates City, MO, Deanna & Ken Nolan, Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Michelle & husband Jerry Howard, Joleen Macek, Kirsten & husband Travis Bayne, Eric Nolan, Shauna Nolan; great grandsons, Justin Howard, Colton Howard, Aidan Nolan, Conor Nolan; sister, Dorothea P. Ford; step-sisters, Lois Stewart, Lucille Bruner, Doris Garrett; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church.(arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 816-313-1677)

    Edna was a wonderful lady and is missed already. She is one of those that brought me welcome when I first came to visit BRPC. Please accept my heartfelt condolence for your loss. I hope to talk to you soon as I and Christi will be at the memorial service Saturday the 12th.

    I want to extend my sympathy to all the family in the loss of your Mother. Edna was a joy to know at church. I always enjoyed our visits. She was so dedicated to the church Sewing group and Deborah Circle. She will be miss.
