Edwin Bland Sr.

Edwin Willson Bland Sr. died March 6, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital. Will was born August 29, 1922 in Bessie, Oklahoma, the son of John B. and Zaidee Borden Bland. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marine and the United Statesa Air Force. Will graduated form the University of Oklahoma in 1956 and moved to Liberty in 1959. He retired from the General Accounting Office in 1987, having worked as an auditor there over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Teddye Dickinson Bland, his sister Zaidee Atkinson, brothers Theodore, John, Robert, and his identical twin Richard (Wally) bland. He is survived by his son Edwin Jr. and wife Kathryn, grand daughter Abigail, nephew Richard (Dick) Bland, all of Liberty, and Susan Bland Day, neice, of San Marcos, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, Liberty, March 15, 2008 at 2pm. (arr: Heartland Cremation & Burial Society 816-313-1677)
