Elaine M. Jamerson

Elaine M. Jamerson passed on July 30, 2020 at the age of 89.

She was a graduate of R.T. Coles and worked various jobs throughout her life, ultimately retiring from the Kansas City, Missouri School District as the Cafeteria Manager at Southeast High School. She prided herself on never letting a student go hungry, regardless of their ability to pay.

Elaine married Lavern, “Mike” Jamerson in 1949, and from this marriage, they raised four children –

LaVerne, Keith “Mickey” Anthony “Tony” and Terrence. She enjoyed watching sports, camping, fishing, gardening, traveling, entertaining friends at her home and of course, the casino.

She also loved ice-cold Beer, Margaritas, Café Zinfandel, Tex-Mex, Chinese, Soul Food, chocolate ice cream, candy bars and chocolate chip cookies.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lavern “Mike,” son Anthony “Tony,” son Keith “Mickey,” grandson Jeremy “Big Jay,” great grand-daughter Cornae Duley, parents Hubert Brown & Gladys Christopher, sisters Doralene & Caroline and uncle, Walter Akers.

She is survived by daughter LaVerne, son Terrence, grand-daughters Tracy, Dannette Pickett, Star Swoope (William) and Starla Proctor, grandson Antonio Whitley, great grand-daughter Tiffany, great grandsons Steven McPherson & Kameron Proctor; great, great grandsons, Jamarion and Elijah & great, great grandson Thomas McPherson, along with many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

While she did not like (or attend) funerals, you are welcomed to pay your respects on August 11, 2020 @ Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon.
