Elisabeth Ellen T. Kirby, 85, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away October 2, 2022 from compilations from COVID.
Elisabeth was born March 24, 1937 in Windham, CT.
Bats, a talented writer, she began her career on Capitol Hill with the start up publication, Roll Call in Washington, D.C. She went on to teach, served the Lees Summit School District in a number of roles and served on the board of Kansas City Public Television. She retired from the Association of Unity. Elisabeth would say her greatest accomplishments were in the roles of exemplary mother, grandmother and auntie.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Edmund (Ned) Burke Thompson Jr. and Jessica Gaul Thompson; brother, MG Edmund R. Thompson; retired, and former husband, Marvin Lee Kirby.
Survivors include: daughter, Ellen Kirby Super and son-in-law, Michael Super; grandsons, Robert (Bobby) and Kirby; son, Chad Andrew Kirby and daughter-in-law, Karla Kirby; numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece Linda G. T. Grignon.
