Elmer Duane (Wayne) Gumm, 71, died peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital East on March 25, 2016. He was retired from Universal Mfg. He was born on September 3, 1944 in Brumley, Mo. He is survived by his wife Barbara and his children Duane Jr., Joane, Faye, Jerry, Carol, Brian, Robin, Darrin, Ariana, and his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Irene Gumm, brother, James Gumm, and son, Richard. Visitation will be held at 1:00-3:00P.M. with service to follow at 3:00P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 17200 E. 39th St. Independence, Mo. On March 29th, 2016. The family request in lieu of flowers donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

I am so sorry for the passing of Elmer we use to work together i am retired now I found out u work with my oldest daughter a d el.er also work with Douglas Siems he was there for 30yrs. Until he lost his battle with cancer the 15th was my long lost love u have my prayers for ur family

So sorry to hear about Wayne passing away. He is with God. You Barb and the family were blessed to have him for as long as you did. God give us Angels and take them when he needs them.
I work at Universal Mfg. with him for 32 years. He was caring and honest with what he expected fro my work. May he rest in peace
