Ernest “Pete” L. Sherrow, 87, of Leawood, went home to The Lord on December 18, surrounded by the family he cherished. Pete was born in Laredo, Missouri to Earnest and Gladys Sherrow. He came to Kansas City at the age of five and made the Kansas City area his permanent home. He married Annette Sherrow in 1961 and they had two daughters Kathy and Alana. He was the proud grandpa to his two granddaughters, Whitney and Lauren Estes who he more than cherished. They were what made him smile and be the most proud. In 1964, Pete founded Accent Sales and Service with $500 and his pickup truck and grew it into the success it is today. Through the business he made wonderful friends and business associates. He was a true leader and had several organizations he belonged to, but his true love was the Vanguard Men’s Group.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, all but one of his 12 siblings and his daughter Kathy. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Annette; daughter and son-in-law Alana and Jim Estes; granddaughters Lauren and Whitney Estes and his sister Gladys Keith.
A memorial service will be held in the future.
