E. CHARLENE MASON STEELE
Born as Eva “Charlene” Lawson, age 64, she passed away peacefully on 08-03-13at NorthCare Hospice House. Visitation will be held at Heartland – 6113 Blue Ridge Boulevard (not the Cutoff) – Kansas City MO 816-313-1677 on Thursday 08-08-13 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with her funeral service to immediately follow. Private burial will be held on a future date at the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville MO.
Charlene was the Daughter of Charles Boyd Lawson & Florence Eva Lowe and a Step Daughter to Thomas A. Lowe Sr. They proceeded her in death. She graduated from Kirksville High School and married Gale A. Mason in 1967. She is survived by her 4 children & their spouses: Pamela Loar-Mason (Amy), Jeff Mason (Alyssa), Sheila Mason Rhodes (Matt) and Carissa Peterson. She is also survived by her Brother: Thomas A. Lowe Jr. (Spouse Linda), Brother: Michael Lowe, Grandkids: Shane & Trent Mason, Grant & Wyatt Rhodes, Xavier & Patience Peterson. Nieces: Jaclyn Lee (Spouse Min) & Andrea J. Benton (Spouse Don), Nephew: Eddie Lowe (Spouse Tammy), Great Nieces & Nephews: Aden Benton, Taylor & Tyler Benton, Jaxon Lee, Shekoda & Shereva Lowe.

Eva was a lovely woman, with a gracious way about her. I was privileged to visit with her and to read to her over this past year as a volunteer chaplain at The Groves. I found her to be very pleasant and with a strong faith. May each of her survivors have wonderful memories of this precious child of God.
