Evelyn Mildred (Gifford) Reed, age 99, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Capital Region Medical Center with family by her side.
She was born July 27, 1919 in Fulton. She married James E. Reed on October 3, 1945.
Evelyn was a devoted housewife, mother and aunt. She was her husband’s bookkeeper and secretary during his 55 plus years in the carpentry business. She was always willing to help out, listen and feed anyone who came to the house.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn is survived by one granddaughter, Buffy Levasseur (Dan) of Henley; four great-grandchildren: Dalton (Natasha) Tolbert of Norfolk, VA, Garret (Angie) Tolbert of St. Martins, Chloe Levasseur of Henley, and Zoe Levasseur of Henley; as well as one great-great grandson, Grayson Tolbert of St. Martins. Evelyn, also known as Aunt Eve, was beloved by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her only child, Linda Sue (Reed) Stolte in 2016.
Evelyn was cremated and no services will be held.

    Buffy , Mr Reed , and family , so sorry for the loss of your Grandmother Reed . Used to hear about the Reeds from Linda . Hope God will give Mr Reed comfort and peace . Linda told he how devoted he was of his wife . Love the nice picture of her .

    To our longtime friend, Jimmie and to all of your and Evelyn’s family, Ron and I send our deepest sympathy to each of you in your loss. For Buffy and the grandchildren, I have know your Grandmother and Grandfather for a long time, connected through music (Dad–Westwood Tharp) and Jimmie. My Mom, Grace Tharp, talked to Evelyn on the phone in their later years. I went to school with Linda, she was one year behind me.
