Florence Marie “Flo” Carmack, 89, died February 22, 2015 at Menorah Hospital after a brief illness.
Flo was born October 25, 1925 in Cleveland, OH to Walker and Thea Hanssen but lived most of her life in TN, FL, and KS. She graduated from Fairview Parl Nursing School in Cleveland, where she met Church, her beloved husband of 65 years. Besides her family, Flo’s loves included Pediatric Nursing, Square-Dancing, Bridge, Ceramics, Gardening, Puzzles and Games.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband CHurck, and son Michael, Flo is survived by her daughters Terry Hettinger (Mike and Jusy Carty( Bob), grandchildren Chris Hettinger (Allison), Micheal and Rachel Hettinger, Kelly Phillips (Jerry), Alyson Bennett (Greg), Elizabeth Carty, Mary Helen Horn (Dino), sister in law Dorothy Ferris, and seven great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Homestead of Leawood for the special TLC which Flo received.
A celebration of her life will be Thursday, February 26th at 7:00 pm at Homestead, 12720 State Line Road, Leawood, KS.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Homestead’s Music Fund.
