I have known Floyd since I was a little girl. I went from being afraid of him to knowing that he is not so bad, he pays in cash when you work with him and would always buy ice cream if he was around and the ice cream truck was around. He is truly one of a kind. I can’t believe your gone! You will be missed, but never forgotten. Until we meet again.

Floyd taught me so much on life and I am so grateful for the time we worked and spent together. He used to give the guys on the jobsite a hard time telling them that they better pick up the pace because I would (and did) outwork them on several occasions. I will spend the rest of my life trying to figure out some of his “riddles”. Sweet Leaf loves you Big Daddy Floyd

My heart has been saddened over the passing of Mr. Floyd Long. He has been a blessing to me and my family. He has served as a Master Plumber for our family. I have been a Special Education Teacher for over 30 years in the Kansas City area and my husband is the Pastor of a small church near Lee’s Summit. We prayed for Mr. Long, and will continue to pray for his family.

Floyd and I became very close friends thru DNA. On my adoption papers , they listed Charles Alton Long as my father. So Floyd took a DNA test , we were not brother and sisters, but very close friends. Really he was more like a brother than my true brothers. I will miss him . He always told me he loved me more than some family. We talked over the phone nearly every week. I knew I couldn’t reach him , but didn’t know he had passed.

We miss you so much Floyd, life just isn’t the same without you! I miss seeing your face everyday and the long talks we so often had. You have done so much for Pat and I, it meant everything. I feel lucky to have known you and to have called you my friend. See you again someday on the other side, till then, rest in peace!
