Gabriela Leimomi Kelley

Gabriela Leimomi Kelley, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away March 6, 2021 at home from leukemia. Gabriela was born on December 18, 1946 in Hakalau, Hawaii.

Gabriela “Gabe” was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. Gabe graduated from Hilo High School and soon after moved to Richmond, California where she met her husband, Ronald Kelley, who was completing radar training at Treasure Island Naval Base. Ron and Gabe were married on December 21, 1965, in Unionville, Missouri. Ron and Gabe made their home in Green City, where Gabe continued to live until moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 2014. She worked for ConAgra in Milan, Mo until the plant closed. Gabe was a special person, loved by many for her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She loved romance novels, science fiction, and working in her yard. Gabe’s landscaping always looked great, she was fond of a “pop of color” in her yard and home. Gabe was warm and welcoming to all, she will be missed by her family, friends, and her pets, Bodhi and Pumpkin.

Gabe was proceeded in death by her husband, Ronald D. Kelley, parents, Gabriel and Mildred “Patty” AhYo, mother and father in-law, Raymond and Molly Kelley, and sister Carlene.

Survivors include: sons, Travis (Angelique) of Tulsa, Ok and Tyson (Amber) of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Tara (Angie) of Kansas, MO; brothers, Nick (Carol) and Casimir (Harvelee) AhYo of Hilo, HI; and four grandchildren, Joseph, Aaron, Rosa and Lydia.
