Gail C. VanHorn

“She was touched by an angel and slept.” Gail C. VanHorn, 75, passed away May 25, 2004, at St. Luke’s Medical Center. A prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Oak Wood Baptist Church, 7600 Lee’s Summit Rd., Kansas City, MO. Friends may call one hour prior to the prayer service. A funeral service will be 4 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the church. Gail was a member of the Oak Wood Baptist Church since 1997 and was a part of the Harvester’s Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the UMKC Mentor Program at John Knox Village and other volunteer services with John Knox. Gail was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Totten. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Paul Ralph VanHorn and wife, Shannon, Fargo, ND, David Eric VanHorn and wife, Catie, Rapid City, and Kathy Gail VanHorn, Coeur D’Alene, ID; brothers, Hugh C. Callihan, Ashland, NY, and “Richard” Michael Callihan, Flat Woods, KY; and grandchildren, Nathaniel, Phillip, Zachary and Brittany.
