Garnett M. Pyle, 96, of Columbia entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Candlelight Lodge in Columbia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 616 Jackson St., Columbia, MO 65203. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Harrisburg, MO. Garnett was born on January 8, 1920 in Buell, MO to the late Frank and Maude (Davis) Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Karla (George) Hessenbruch of Columbia, MO, a brother Layson “Denny” Gibson of Lake St. Louis, MO a sister Mary Bock of Fulton, MO, two grandchildren, Jennifer Abney and Rachel Walters both of Columbia, four great grandchildren, Brittany, Will, Celeste and Tate as well as one great-great grandchild, Peyton. Garnett is also preceded in death by four siblings, Naomi Williams, Richard Gibson, James “Abe” Gibson and Floyd Gibson.

As a young couple, we were invited for Sunday dinners at Garnett & Earl’s home many times. The food was delicious, and the hospitality so kind and inviting. Garnett was a sweet Christian lady. We send our sympathy to the family.
