Gene Reiss

Gene Reiss, 79, Kingsville, Missouri, formally of Raytown, passed October 7, 2016 at his home.  A memorial gathering will be held 1:00 – 2:30 PM, Saturday, October 15th 2016 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri.

Gene was the fourth child born to George & Christine (Worsham) Reiss on August 27, 1937 in Raytown, Missouri.  He was a lifetime member of of IUOE 101, working for Nichols Construction, Purcell Construction and retiring in 1996 from Mid States Excavation. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  You would never see Gene without his boots and hat.  Gene was also known as a jokester.  In his retirement years, he enjoyed gardening, mowing his lawn and “Jack” in the afternoons.

Preceded in death by; parents and brother, George Jr.  Survivors include; companion, Connie Quick; daughters, Carla Saunders, Chelli Payne and Marilyn Young; brother, Tom Reiss; sister, Mae Beech; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    I’m so glad I was able to call Gene not only my neighbor but my friend for the last 5 years. We will miss him very much!
